I applied the Step One lawn care product about 3 weeks ago. Now I have dandelions and other weeds coming up. Can I apply Step Two for weed control?
I wouldn't for two reasons. One, it's good to allow about 6 weeks or so between feedings. You're not there yet. And two, although dandelions are showing up (as well as a few of the other lawn weeds), if you applied a weed and feed now, you'd miss the other weeds that will be coming up in a few weeks! Spot treat weeds right now (as needed) with a water soluble weed killer for lawns. And dandelions are best treated when in the puffball stage, or waiting until fall. Save that weed and feed for mid to late May. And who knows, by then, you may only need a "feed" rather than the "weed"! By the way, honeybees really enjoy flowering dandelions this time of the year. Let the plants flower, then treat later as needed (best treated in the puffball stage anyway!). You can also be successful by pulling or digging them out if you'd rather not use chemicals.
