Hamamelis vernalis – Vernal Hitchhazel flies under the radar in the landscape. The flowers open in February and many times go unnoticed. The multi-stemmed dense rounded shrub makes an excellent shrub for the border, screening, or as a specimen, and with little to no insect or disease issues, it needs no attention. But, once late fall arrives, you can’t miss Vernal Witchhazel with its extremely bright golden yellow leaves. This shrub is now being grown as a small patio tree (single stem) as well!
