-Fall is for planting!  Remember, more roots are developed in the fall than any other time the rest of the year.  So plants planted now, actually get that jump start on plants planted in the spring. 

-Fall is also a great time for transplanting plants if needed, as well as digging and dividing many of the perennials, again, if needed. 

-Fall is the best time for feeding the lawn.  The two feedings in the fall are the most important feedings of the entire season. 

-Fall is the best time for making soil improvements. 

-Fall is a great time to start a compost pile (if you don't have one already).
